The existence of God is assumed from the very beginning in the bible. The charcater and nature of God is revealed in the holy book. Think of God as the Creator and Ruler of all that is. he is perfect in power and wisdom. And he is good, loving; holy and truthful. he draws people to Christ.
To understand God, you must know and see what he has done and accomplished. He created the world, he sustains the world and he sent his son Jesus to earth for the redemption of man from the curse of sin and death.
And God became incarnate in the person of Jesus. We get forgiveness of our sins through his son Jesus and we get salvation. In fact, to know “Who is God”, we have to look at Jesus.
Steps to let your love for god grow
Read the Bible
In order to get closer to God and Jesus, pick up a bible from a good Christian shop and start reading the word of God.
Go To Church
Try to find a good church in your neighborhood and go to services on a regular basis.
Pray Regularly
Take some time each day or; if you are busy (can happen), at least a few times per week to pray on a regular basis.
Live by the ten commandments
In order to really be close to God, you will have to follow his ten commandments.
Let us have a look at each of these four steps to get closer to God in more detail. Some sort of explanation how to achieve his love when you are unsure at the beginning.
Reading the bible
The bible consists of two parts, the Old Testament (the time before Jesus) and the New Testament (during and after Jesus’ life). The Bible was written by many people over a long period of time.
The Bible is paramount to a Christian. It is through the Bible that Christians and people can get to know God and his plan to restore all people by sending his son Jesus Christ to live on earth and sacrifice himself for the sins of mankind.
Go to the internet or, if you live in a big city, there might be a bible shop in the area. Choose a bible which you enjoy reading.
Praying Regularly
How to pray properly is the question that comes to mind at the beginning. Well, you should pray without being fearful, pray about everything, and pray with thankful hearts. God will answer all such prayers with the gift of His peace in our hearts. One good way is to offer out our hearts to God, being open, as the Lord knows us better than we know ourselves.
the Lord is more interested in the content of our hearts than in the words as such.
Find a place where you will not be disturbed. Begin your prayer when you feels so. If you do this on a regular basis, you will feel the presence of God.
Going to church
Going to church is a sign and a way of showing our love to God. God also tells you to visit church regularly. In church, you will hear God’s powerful words spoken and prayed.
In church, you also show to the world that you believe in the word of God and the love of him and Jesus.

1 Thou shalt have no other gods before me
2 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image
3 Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain
4 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy
5 Honour thy father and thy mother
6 Thou shalt not murder
7 Thou shalt not commit adultery
8 Thou shalt not steal
9 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour
10 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, wife or anything of thy neighbour
